Smart Windows
Different technologies exist for creating
smart windows. A preferred manufacturer is Innovative Glass
Corporation which uses Research Frontier’s SPD SmartGlass
technology.
Two types of glass can
be utilized. One type will allow you to vary the amount of
tint in the window and the other will allow you to change
from clear to frosted. Privacy glass is commonly used in
bathrooms, entryways and skylights.
Variable tint glass is
commonly used in windows where there is a lot of sun
exposure and window treatments are not preferred or
feasible.
As you can see in
the picture above, there are many creative and dramatic ways
to use this technology.
